The integrity of mooring chains is essential to the safety a range offshore platforms. However, line failures are occurring earlier than their design lives, with high number these due fatigue. Early in fatigue life component initiation processes occur, where hotspot sensitive mean load and there plastic strain accumulation from multiaxial stress-strain responses material, leading cyclic damage accumulation. traditional SN approach suggested by standards does not consider effects, it proposed that this lack consideration under low-cycle conditions reason for current non-conservative assessments chains. This paper aims develop based on critical plane criterion can damage-induced plasticity effect, investigate importance incorporating into chain prediction.
